Sorry if this is beating an old horse, but I've watched numerous videos on the install so I'm fairly confident about doing the job on my 2006 quad cab 2500. No lift only a leveling kit to off set the ranch hand bumper. I've several questions listed below.
1. I've read that yes and no the fan shroud needs to be trimmed back. I'm hoping the real answer is no. Any one have a definite answer?
2. When installing the Haltenberger Inner Drag Link is there an online site that has real instructions or video as to the installation procedure? The pamphlet that came with the 68170214 AA steering gear box is weak on instructions for this procedure and I've found nothing so far in web searches.
3. I'll need to do a ball joint job as soon as the weather warms up. Should I delay the steering gear box until then as I would imagine that I should be a front end alignment after the steering box is installed? I know that I need to get the alignment done as soon as I can get the ball joints installed. The current box is leaking but not badly and I check the fluid regularly.
If anyone has additional suggestions for items I may have over looked please add those to your response.
thank you very much,
Scott aka sisusuomi
I live in Juneau, Alaska so the miles I drive per year amount to about 2-3K, if that, as the truck is used to launch our boat at one of two spots-5 mile drive or a 12 mile drive. Other than that I use it to haul fire wood again not much of a drive. I'm not going to up grade the Haltenberger to the Cross-Car Linkage any time soon.
