Well my 2006 CTD came with remote entry door locks on the key but no alarm system. So a trip to Dodge dealer showed two alarms. . one for standard keyed trucks and one for trucks that already have a remote entry key. So ordered one for my remote entry truck setup... it arrived a week later and I schedule a day for install which I am told usually takes 2-3 hours max.

Take truck and drop off..... 3 hours later get call... . saying this alarm module is not plug and play like every previous year but instead they have to splice wires... . solder... heat shrink... etc. the 2 hour job took them from 1pm until closing at 6pm.

Seems like vendors or something changed for 2006 and this truck is a learning experience every time I take it there.

First they could not manually change pinion factor if tires were not preloaded in software... and so far nobody else has been able to do it yet though Superchip and Smarty claim their uploaders will allow it... we shall see.

Now, a two hour job for an alarm system turns into an entire afternoon... .

Poor service manager said... I am only going to charge you what we thought it would take. . not yourfault we did not know what we were talking about and we should have known this up front. He was embarrassed but joking... .

So in the long run... though the other alarm is more expensive... I think $250 versus $170... . it might be cheaper in long run once you pay hourly service charge to install... 2 hours versus 5 hours.

So far so good though... it works as advertised but went off twice today at work parked by freeway. . so need to lower sensitivity so passing trucks dont set it off.

One thing I liked though is it has valet mode... . oh and another is that the alarm sounding. . does not sound like the typical steady sequence of horn blows. It is an entirely random horn sequence. It sounds like someone is inside of their vehicle and in trouble and hammering onthe horn as fast and as long as they can... . I had 5 people run out of their office to help whoever was needing help in my truck... only to learn it was false alarm. :-laf
