Anyone installed the Mopar diamond plate running boards on an 03 yet. I picked up a set and they look like a real bear to install. Lots of drilling!!! Just looking for some advice if anyone else has been down this road. The instructions suck!!! All pictures and not a single word. It is ridiculous you can't get decent installation instructions anymore.

Broadway Dodge in Littleton had a big sale on diamond plate stuff so if any of you Colorado guys need some diamond plate for your 03 give them a call. The running boards were $110 for the quad cab, box extensions were $65. They also were offering bed rails, tailgate protectors, splash guards and toolboxes for cheap.

TIA

Excellent price on those.

Are they actually DeeZee Boards?

If they are the same, you're right about the directions. It took my dad and I 3 1/2 hrs. to put on my DeeZee cab and box boards. The first one is the worst for each. Once you do the first one for the the cab board and the same for the box board, the others go on much quicker once you know what goes where.

No they are the Mopar diamond plate boards. I actually had them installed by a shop. I told the guy I had some running boards and he said he would install them for $40. I told him they were the Mopar type and he said $40. I picked up my pick-up Saturday and he said the next time someone brought them in it would be $150. I offered him more cash, but he refused. Said "you win some and you lose some".

Great guy. Any of you Colorado folks looking for an accessory shop look up Adrenalin Werx in Centennial near Arapahoe and Jordan. He does Arma spray in liners and does awesome work. Small one man shop that will do what it takes to do it right. I am having him install clear bra on the front next week.

Some things never change. I have the Mopar diamond plates on my 96, and they were installed by the dealership pre-delivery. I was supposed to pick up the truck at 1pm, but my salesguy called and said "they're having trouble with the boards, it'll be late" - truck wasn't ready until 7pm. Took them 8 full hours to put those things on, and the passenger-side bed board was misaligned.

When I get my 2005, I'm going to have my body shop do any step instrallations (undecided on full boards or tube steps).

JMan,

Hows bout a phone # for the dealer (if they have any of the "goodies" left) ? Or let us know if they sold out by now... ... .

Broadway Dodge in Littleton, CO 303-794-4205. I'm not sure how long the sale was going to last. My boards look great and really dress it up and help break up the sea of flame red paint. If I get time this weekend I will try to post a pic. I have never posted a pic so don't hold your breath!!:D

I like my factory boards, they aren't the trickest but functional.

They stop the rock chips and I can easily climb in the bed for hooking/unhooking the goose!

If it's anything like their tubular style running boards, you need a right-angle drill (or attachment) to drill a lot of the holes and I recommend a drill depth collar on the bit so you don't hit the backside of the exterior sheetmetal when you break through. Of course, if it's nothing like installation of the tubular-style boards then I am being of no help here.

I prefer pictures to text. All the text would say is "drill the holes shown on figure X" so it'd be pretty useless anyway.

i have the factory side steps i instaled myself they were a real pain and u have to drill into the rocker panel not happy about that.
