I recently installed a Mopar exhaust brake on my 98. 5 truck. Don't like the dash mounted switch and would like to replace it with the later model on the gearshift. I've seen posts about this but my dealer isn't too smart about finding the part number. Would someone that has done this please give me a number and approximate price. The dealer is 30 miles away and talking to them on the phone is not getting anywhere. I would very much appreciate this information and it would save me a lot of time and frustration.

I have ordered replacement Banks brake switches for a few friends who had the same complaint about the Mopar dash switch. The banks models mount on the shifter as well.

Personally, I would go for the Banks brake all together, little more money, but what a throaty grumbler when you run 4" or bigger pipe.

I installed the Jacobs E-Brake switch on my truck several months ago. It works great and was easy to install. A friend saw it and liked it so well he bought one for his truck also. Ordered it from Cummins West in Sacramento, you should be able to get it from a Cummins dealer close to you. Part #3870838.

#3870838 is the correct number for the 3rd gen switch. I also bought mine from cummins west, 69. 42. It has a red led on the switch housing however the 3rd gen brake uses a different wiring setup so the led will not work. I chose to use the switch to trigger a relay and keep the led working. When I talked to cummins before I bought it last year I was told they had a new switch for the 2nd gen, had a part number and all but he would not give me the number because the part was not released yet.
