Been playing around with my Mopar Grill guard and can't figure out how to get the third bolt that goes through the bracket to the frame rails. Its the one that requires the nut welded to the flat stock that gets inserted into the rail. I can see how the set up should go together, but there is no way to get the bolt up into the hole with the grill guard bracket in place. Has anyone done this successfully?

I am also putting a front hitch on at the same time, and I'm seriously tempted to just have the brackets welded to the hitch and do without the third bolt. I am figuring if I get everything lined up with the two I have and just have it welded in place, thats probably a better alternative.

Wow that hitch was sure a tight fit around the frame rails, but it finally went on. Only down side is when its lined up with the bumper bracket holes, it points up at about a 20' angle. Not too bad, but not level either.

Mine is an older Draw-tite. I picked it up used from a guy who had it on his 1500 that he traded in. Very solid construction. Very heavy also. The cut outs to go around the frame mounts fit just like they should. One thing though - the instructions with my brush guard imply that some of the holes/ slots on the frame where it mounts change from year to year. Just something to be aware of.

We wanted the front hitch to put the bike rack on when the camper is in back.

By the way, if you have an air dam, you will need to remove or trim it.

When I was looking to buy one, www.mileys.com seemed pretty reasonable, but I know there were some others that TDR members liked.

Okie-go: Did you have to relocate or trim your license plate?
