I noticed the other day the my dealer installed Mopar molded mud flaps have done a nice job of rubbing a hole in the paint where they contact the rear panel. I assume that the is from the wind action flexing them during driving. I have to say that I am pretty disappointed in the engineering of these flaps. Anyone else experience this?

Look in the archives. There was a lengthy thread on this subject. DC does cover the repainting under warranty. I bought a set about a month ago but haven't installed 'em yet.
I've been looking for some U-shaped rubber stipping that I can put between the mud guards and the body so it doesn't wear a hole in the paint.

I have Mopar molded mud flaps. They have worked great for me. I put them on in 97 I have not had a problem with the paint. They keep all the road tar and such off the truck, and look good too. Tharpe !

Mopar changed the design of the mud flaps. The old ones were a two piece design that you screw together. The new ones are one molded piece. The old style don't do that. I checked with a few small town dealers until I found the old style. On the new ones, try adjusting the mounting screws so that the edge doesn't touch. A friend tried to put emblem mounting tape on the edge but it was to narrow to work. Why did Dodge change a design that worked!

You might try putting a clear decal underneath the mudflap. An automotive paint supply store should be able to locate some. Also the moulding tape or twosided tape may work. It comes in widths of 1/4",1/2" and 7/8". The rubber and truck will need to be perfectly clean and the temp will need to be above 60deg for the adhesive to work.
