Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Mopar MTL part number for 5600 lube?

I went to the Dodge dealer today to get fluid for my trans. It says on the bottle, for nv-3500, but the parts guy assured me it's the right stuff. Is it? #on the bottle is 04874464

It is the same as what is in the 3500 and the 3550 plus the 1500 trans all it is is a 5w 30w non degetant motor oil . I use 30w non degentant in mine

I got the Pennzoil at AutoZone

It was about $5 a quart.

I want to thank you for the research you did, and let you know that I printed the spec. data for that product and presented it to a local dealer service manager. He looked it over and then assured me that there would be no warranty issue if my trans. broke and I could show that I'd bought that oil with a sales invoice showing my name.



I haven't done it yet but when I do I'll try to get the Pennzoil person to include my VIN on the receipt just to lock it in.

I had mine installed by the dealer. I don't know how they could have a warranty problem with that.
