I have had a goodyear/gatorback drive belt on for quite sometime. I was always concerned about the belt vibration at idle after installing the gatorback.

I kept the original mopar as a spare and re-installed the mopar belt to test for tensioner pulley problem or gatorback problem.

The mopar belt worked with no vibration, back to normal.

Has anyone run across something similar findings from using a Dayco belt.

I would like to get a replacement drive belt, question is Mopar or Dayco?

Evidently Mopar works fine, recommended gatorback does not.

Thanks for your feedback,,,

This is interesting. I was thinking the same thing myself. However, I have only used the Mopar belt, and since reading your concern, I think I will stay with Mopar. I am a firm believer that OEM in most cases is better. Take for instance the windshield wipers blades. I had the same ones on the truck since new and lasted nearly 4 years. I bought some new ones at Auto Zone, they lasted 6 months. Back to the dealer for OEM blades!

Call Geno's, our very own TDR family parts supplier. I think Geno's sells Dayco brand.

Whatever Geno's sells, I have confidence that Geno's is not going to sell us junk or overpriced products.

I fully agree -

I've been exploring my own idea of a boonie box, because I have half the stuff on my shelf at home, including the crimp-connectors.

Geno's carries both Mopar and Dayco serp. belts and hoses.

I put the original mopar belt on, in fact, it doesn't chirp anymore or at least not right now.

I read where someone had posted the dayco being a little thicker belt.

The gatorback is thicker too, you'd think the tensioner would have taken up the slack.

I would rather the dayco and spend $10. 00 less.

Carry a belt and tensioner pulley as well. If the belt goes it can take out the plastic tensioner pulley. My luck was I had an extra Mopar belt that I used when mine belt broke but I didn't have the pulley so I still had to source the pulley.

Geno's carries everything you need.

I will make an observation that I think Dayco belt is a bit thicker than the Mopar belt I had but I've had that replacement Mopar belt for awhile. This isn't really a big problem but you have to slip the belt up behind the tensioner pulley to install it and the clearance is tight and it's hard to get your hands in there.
