Picking up new truck next week and I need running boards so my wife can get (climb?)in. Anyone have experience with the Mopar running boards? Any other options worth considering? Thanks in advance.

Bob

I have the oem molded step, and i'm very happy with them. I didn't install the short piece at the bed. They are pricey.

Got the rubber MOPARs with end pieces. They are sturdy. We stood on the running board side by side today and there was no sag/movement(300 lbs+).

Ours are black. Seems to go with the horizontal black lines formed by the trim, and over the rail sprayliner pattern. I did see a RAM with matching color boards in the same color as mine. It looked real sharp as well.

The board is wide enough to turn around on carefully. We have an elderly parent that isn't stable on his feet. We liked the fact that a foot couldn't slide forward and catch an ankle between the board and the truck body. Because it extends from the front wheel well to the rear wheel well(bed has a seperate piece), I think it minimizes chips in the rocker panels. The step behind the cab has been usefull several times.

Someone on these boards mentioned putting on an electric swing away step. We considered it. But wanted something for both doors.

Anyway, just my $0. 02... big pennys due to length.

I have the OEM boards on my 98. 5 Qd Cab S/B and real happy with them. Very funtional and makes the truck look lowered and more streamlined. #ad

Got the molded ones on my 01. Installed them myself in under 4 hours. Love 'em. Plus they match the paint perfectly and they are strong.

I was considering several different brands of running boards, nerf bars etc. When I picked up my truck at the dealer the service department had just finished putting a set of the molded Mopar boards, color matched, on a truck similar to mine. I crawled under the truck, looked it over real good. These things are great, they look like they are part of the truck instead of being added on. Best mounting hardware of any boards I've seen. Got to get me some! #ad

I have been waiting for them to list these in the new "Bright Silver" color for the quad cab short bed. As soon as they do I am getting some. By the way, for those in Utah, Quality Dodge parts department easily matches or beats prices quoted by Mopar4Less.
