I'm planning on purchasing some type of mud guard or spash guard to cut down on paint chips and dents. The stock tires on the 2001 seem to throw up quite a bit of road junk. Are the standard spash guars by mopar any decent? I remember back reading something about paint rubbing off. What would ypou recommend for mud guards?

I put the Mopar mud flaps on my truck when it was new. For the very same reason. My wife's truck does not have any mud flaps. I think it does hold down the mud quite a bit but, I am running 285/75/16's on my truck with the stock ride heighth and the mud flaps interfere with the tires through some turns. I have been thinking about lifting the front end with 2" spacers to correct the problem.

I have mopars on my 2001 2wd with the factory tires. No problem and keep mud and dirt off the ride. I like em.

Northwest Custom will make any size of mud flap and customize it to your specs.

You will not find a better looking or better quality anywhere!

I have the flat 4x4 (extra long) Mopar guards and have been very pleased with them.

Are the 2wd ones the same as the 4wd ones but shorter? I've been thinking about getting the molded Mopar ones and trimming part of the bottom off. I'm running 255/85R16s on aftermarket 16x8's, and they throw a lot of stuff at the body. I really hate the look of mud flaps, but need to do something. One good puddle and the truck is gross.

The MOPAR molded flaps, don't have the part # handy, the ones Geno's sells for around $32. 00, are pretty good. They seem a little short and narrow for a 4x4 with 265 tires. If you are going to by them pick up some of the clear 3M tape and place it between the truck and the flap. The flaps on the rear of the truck have chaffed my paint a little. Road grit gets caught between the flap and the body and the slight movement of the flap rubs the paint. I am going to get the tape before I install the front pair.

I've got custom flaps on mine with chrome etc. but if I had it to do over I'd have a set of the dodge/cummins flaps from cummins on my rig. The price is reasonable and IMHO they are a tough looking set of flaps.

I concur with BIG BOB!

I have a 2WD truck with stock tires.
I ordered a set from the dealer catalog, they are made for the 4x4, (the shorter versions)
and they work great, plain black with Dodge printed on the bottom.
I don't have the P# with me right now...

I have the 4x4 mopar splashless style (the 4x4 are longer than the 4x2). So far they work great.

As far as the paint being rubbed off, it was the clam shell type of mud guards.
