Any Hot-Shoters here?

does any one no if i can put a second air on my 32 5 artic fox.the one in the main room dosent cool hat good.will i have to re move fan or dome.is their eletric i can use.thank you

I installed a second AC in my Fox Mountain which is made by the same company. I removed the motorized vent over the bed and wired in a second AC circuit to power it. I bought a small unit normally used in small campers that will easily run with a 15 amp circuit. You can look into the framework after you remove the vent to see if it is pre-wired for AC but more than likely it is not if the RV is wired for 30 amps.

If it's a 50A RV then it will be easy, if it's a 30A RV then it will take a little more work but not impossible.

it is 50 amp, factory told me to re move fan over bed and use that wireing.isnt the fan 12volt
If it’s 50A it should be prewired for a bedroom AC... meaning once you remove the fan over the bed you’ll find some 120V wires have been ran for a 2nd AC.

I wonder if they put a label on the wall somewhere where the thermostat wiring is pre-installed also. Just removing the interior trim on the fan should allow a check for what they pre-wired.

Is there a blank outlet cover somewhere in the bedroom that has the thermostat wires. The 12V fan circuit will supply the control voltage of the operation of the thermostat/controls.

Look at the AC panel and see if there is a circuit breaker for a 2nd AC. If not, remove the cover and see if there is a wire there somewhere or maybe behind the power center.

Might have to call the factory. Also asking the question on a forum like RV.net might get your more details. SnoKing

Kind of an old thread but...
AF is builds their RV's kind of odd.
If you can install a second air, you will have the 50A option and there will be a blank junction box plate convering the Romex to feed it. If you do not have 50A then the roof was not structured for the extra weight and there's no wiring or CB in the panel for it. Also, even if you're all set up for second air, it will be a stand alone unit and will not be connected to the thermostat - again, this is a Northwood corner cutting thing.
They made a mistake on mine and had to remove the roof and restructure it for second AC. They gave me a free second AC for the trouble but the trailer will never be the same.

It's true that there wasn't a wire there for another AC (30 amp system) but the roof on mine hasn't caved in with the second AC. It doesn't bother me a bit that the t-stat doesn't control it. I was able to hide the wires without too much trouble and have a separate AC connection installed into the side of the trailer.

The two RVs I added ACs to were self ducted, had built in thermostat, and were less than 11amps. Worst case, if your main unit is a 13.5K you can upgrade to 15K and STILL be in the 11 to 15 amp range. They've really done great the RV AC efficiency.

Cheers, Ron
