More Boost, Lower EGT, Quieter, In 1 easy step

Ya ever done something really dumb and it's kinda hard to admit??



Well Here Goes, Pulled MY BHAF and old Smokey mount off today to install my Outerwears Filter cover, while it was out i was cleaning the turbo and what did i find? An 1/8 in. hole in the discharge of the compressor section that i forgot to plug, because PDR was out of early style turbos Mark sent me a second gen turbo and told me all i had to do was MAKE SURE YOU PLUG THAT HOLE!! well i got all exited to try out the new turbo and Swisssh!!!!!!! in one ear and out the other, so i plugged the whole and went for a ride and no jet noise from under the hood (imagine that) wide oped throttle 1150 EGT where i was hitting 1300 easy before and 41 PSI boost, So being one that can't leave well enough alone i turned the fuel up a 1/4 turn to get my temps back up where they should be.



Now i've got to dyno again, the truck is definitely faster seat of the pants feel, i was sp happy i went out to and old farm road and trued my rear tires up ... ... ... ... .

It Must Have Made Some..........

NOISE I have had drivers complain of a whistle/whine and tell me "I know what a turbo sounds like, and this is not a turbo whine" when in fact it is a loose hose etc etc I've Had them tell me "there is a loud whistle in the engine compartment when I push down on go peddle" when in fact it's been there all along. My reply, NO,REALLY?



Anyhow, my point is my drivers hear noises all the time, sometimes they are right, sometimes they are wrong. We all try to be privy to wards the noise our trucks make. Not always easy to distinguish a problem.
