Thanks for the replies to my first post. Now I need to know what would be better a 3000 or 4000 gsk? what are the advantages/disadvantages to each one? Would it be wise to upgrade valve springs with the 3000 gsk? Do I replace just exhaust springs or intakes also? Can I do this upgrade myself without removing the pump? I am mechanically inclined.

My truck is a 72 chevy with 94 12V auto ,4" exhaust, KN filter, fuel plate forward, star wheel adjustments, 4X4, I think thats it.

Yes you can do the install on the truck. From what i see you would be best off with a 3k kit. If you do change the springs you need to do both intake and exhaust.

with the auto unless your truck pulling or want to manually shift. I would say the 3K would work. Or you could do a 4k and just not use the extra RPM. I know my 4K kit had a sweet idle until I cranked down on the springs
