SPARTANBURG, S. C. -- After alleged problems with a 6. 0-liter diesel engine sold in Ford models from 2003 to 2006, a class-action lawsuit has been filed in the U. S. District Court in South Carolina against Ford Motor Co. and Navistar Inc. , reported the Herald-Journal.
Similar suits have been filed in North Carolina and Maine.
The suit alleges breach of expressed and implied warranty on Ford's behalf, along with negligence and negligent misrepresentation, and unjustly profiting from a malfunctioning product.
Ford and Navistar, the manufacturer of the engine, are in an ongoing battle over who is to blame.
The vehicles with questionable engines are used for business purposes, with regular repairs hurting bottom lines.
The suit seeks financial damages and attorneys' fees.
