I've got the gauges on order, so now I'm looking at further upgrades.

I want to do this right the first time, saves money. I've seen the post about order of upgrades, I'd like to be in the 350-400hp range when I'm done.

Q1. Comp box or TST Power max3? (good and bad about both)

Q2. Does the Comp have too much advance for the ETH?

Q3. DDII or DDIII

Q4. Do the DDIII's smoke to much? (ha ha)

Q5. South Bend Con or ?

Q6. Con OFE or FE

Q7. The Box will fool the ECM about boost, do I still need a way to increase (ie turnbuckle, boost elbow)

Q8. Fast Cooler needed or not?

Q9. What am I forgetting

You have a lot of good questions and have done your homework. I can't begin to answer all your questions but you need to get the attention of some of the more knowlegable members. with a title like "newbe questions" they will most likely overlook your post. But I can send it to the top of the forum so maybe they will take a look. Good luck.

Q1. Comp box or TST Power max3? (good and bad about both)

good question however I cant help you with it

Q2. Does the Comp have too much advance for the ETH?

nope

Q3. DDII or DDIII

DDIII's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Q4. Do the DDIII's smoke to much? (ha ha)

only off boost it can kill all the skeeters for two city blocks on a hot day.

Q5. South Bend Con or ?

Q6. Con OFE or FE

the OFE is smoother than the FE both can hold 400HP

Q7. The Box will fool the ECM about boost, do I still need a way to increase (ie turnbuckle, boost elbow)

yes, but if you want an honest 400 HP I strongly recomend a PDR HX40

Q8. Fast Cooler needed or not?

not really

Q9. What am I forgetting

GAUGES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a new fuel system and your VISA.

if you feel you dont need 400 HP, the stock turbo or a PDR Superturbo some DD3's and an EZ box will get you quite close to 350HP

I have noticed that fueling boxes that tap the pump wore dont quite work as well on the ETH. so your best bet is to go with injectors first.

a Power Edge COMP and DD2's get you between 365-390HP depending on exhaust and turbo when used on an ETH.

BTW a COMP DD2's and a PDR superturbo is a really nice all around combination.

If you really want 400 HP get DD3's, a COMP or PM3 (I really do not know which is best) and a PDR HX40.

hope this helps!

Thanks for the help!

Injectors will probably be first, even though, Rod at wester diesel sells some pretty good packages

Just a couple of additions to round things out, you'll probably want to ditch the stock exhaust for a 4" system as well as an imroved air intake like the Scotty Air II will help keep the EGT's down, as well as look better/sound better and flesh out your signature ;) Oh yeah, and a bigger tire budget :D

Injectors alone (Stage 3 100hp) moved my engine to around 335 hp at the block, 285 measured at the rear wheels at 30 psi boost. I mention this because it is probable very near 400 hp at 40 psi boost. There is a rough rule of thumb that says every pound of boost is worth 10 hp. At 285 I am really close to following that rule. Anyway... I went with injectors first. I haven't added anything else because the injectors were enough. My accelerator peddle got really touchy after the injectors.
