I would like to know If a guy was to do Piers HX-40, 370's, and deliveery valves on top of a #4 Cam Plate would he be able to pull a 9,000 load?

If not what is the max that one could go

The truck is a 97 xtra cab 4x4 long bed with 275 injector and #4 Cam plate on a 215 pump

Xavier,

Not sure I understand your question. Your stock truck should have no problem pulling a 9000lb trailer or load. With my 96 3500 I pulled a 9000lb 35' gooseneck with 20,000lbs of alfalfa, plus 200gal of diesel in the bed from Tri-cities Washington through British Columbia, which every hill in the world that God invented put there to Fairbanks AK, and the truck performed flawlessly. I was just under 36,000lb with the whole rig. I've pulled the same trailer with my 97 2500 with about 6000lbs on the trailer before I sold it. No problem

I dont get the question either. If that 9000# load is on wheels, he has no problem. If it has no wheels,he might need the mods;)

Xavier:

As the other members said, that 97' Dodge CTD should be

able to pull a 9,000 lb. load right now!!!

I have/had all the "mods" you describe above and I pull

a trailer with a farm tractor that weighs OVER 10,000

lbs. with no problems at all!! I now do it with a B-1

Turbo though, but I had my Piers' HX-40 on the truck

before the B-1. And,... ... . my truck is an automatic!

Hope this helps!

We just want to know if 370 injectors, Peir's HX-40, #4 cam plate, delivery valves and 4" Exhaust Pulling 10. 000lbs would be too much EGTs.

And if that is no problem then where would we be (weight wise) pushing the EGTs

My #4 was set 3/4 of the way forward, with 300hp injectors & a stock HX40-16, this setup develops too much EGT for towing @ max throttle.

I don't know how much cooler Piers HX40 is than the stock HX40. 370's will run hotter than the 300's & the #4 centered will run cooler than my setup also.

Woun't be to high EGT if you watch it and don't just floor board it and sight see out the window climbing the Grape Vine in July. Dosen't matter what plates or injectors you have as long as you watch the EGT, Boost and temp guages.

Xavier:

I do not have any problems with EGT's pulling my trailer/

tractor described above.

As "T. Baker" said, just watch your gauges and "control"

the temps with your foot. As he also said, you can "force"

the temps. up with heavy throttle and high outside temps

and steep grades. I have faced all that and am still able to

keep the EGT's out of the "danger zone. "
