I still cant get the pic thing down pat. I have a problems with the size of my pics so I came up with a trick to get it right (sometimes) I find that If I take the pic from far away I can crop it to the right size for the readers rigs, but that doesnt always work. I tried the www.irfanview.com that steve posted and the link doesnt work. What can I do. JB

Looks like their site is down. What photo software do you have? Adobe photoshop, etc (whatever you are using to crop)? Using that software you will be able to resize the pictures and will be able to save it with lesser quality as a .jpg image. Let me know what software you have and I'll try to walk you through it.

Not familiar with their software. What you want to look for is something that says resize photo or resize image, etc. Make it smaller - like 400 x whatever if you want to post directly in the forums or 800 x whatever if you want to post in the readers rigs section. Then when you save the image do a "save as" instead of "save" and look for a quality or compression setting - if it's a scale of 1 to 10 set it to 5, if it's 0-100 set it to 50. That could be under an options button on the save as screen as well. If you do those things you should be well under the required sizes.

I have the Kodak as well. What works for me is to crop (if necessary) using the Kodak program then save it with a new name. It will be put in the same folder but at the end.

Then under the start menu, documents, my pictures, I find the name I gave it and open it. (It will be in the Windows picture viewer instead of Kodak) Then right click, then edit, opens it in "Paint" so you can reduce it. Click Image tab, then Stretch/Skew and I usually start with 50% in each stretch box. By checking Properties, you can see if the file size is under the limit yet. If so save it again (you can give it a new name again so you retain the original size crop as well) then upload to the readers rigs gallery.

Hope this helps. Any questions, PM me or email me.
