Ford ESCAPE DIESEL!?

I would like to give two of our 8. 3 tractor motors a little help. They are C series. And are in a IH 7120 and a 8920. Just looking for about 50 more horse. Can this all be done with the pump? According to the guages these motors are loafing along at 165 horse. Does anyone have experience with these.

They have the P7100 fuel injection pumps that the 12v, 2nd gen trucks have. You can put a different plate in the pump from http://tstproducts.com/83cummins.htm It will work on the 7120 for sure, not sure on the 8920. Don't know if it has the P7100 or not. Haven't looked at the engine on one yet.

I would suggest a "real" pyrometer to put on them. Never was impressed with relying solely on the color coded "graph" for watching EGT. You still don't know what you have for sure. You will probably need to keep the factory thermocouple in place though. The tractors do have some sensors for shutting it down if something gets out of the parameters.
