ok all you bombers. i just put on 315's and now have to come out of 6th gear on some hills will towing. how much more hp will i need add to get me back were i started with the 265's. i don not want to bomb any more than i have too, just want the stock towing power back with the 315's or a little more. i just need to stay reliable and safe.

Power

Kurt,

Look into a mild pressure box (50-65hp). I like the VA level I. It gives a nice gain and doesn't boost the fuel pressure into unsafe levels. I think I saw that the max for the stock was 23,700 and the VA was at 24,500. Some of the other boxes give more power but you end up in the 26-27,000psi range.

Look at DLeno's box comparison chart.

Power

Kurt,

I guess "feel" is to each their own. However, if you look into the boxes they "come-on" at different RPM's. Some of the boxes start at 1400, some at 1900.

You will feel 65hp, and know that it's there. It's more a question of where you want to feel it. If you rev your tuck well into the two's and want the power on top, Edge ez is good. If you want lower rpm power, VA starts real early.

I might consider some injectors first. after driving a truck with them ,they are much smoother on power delivery and almost as powerful as the ez. price is a little more but I think the trade off is worth the thought.
