My Dad picked up what he thought was a good buy on a set of 190's and a 16cm housing. He wants to put them on his 89. Will the 190's be noticable? Will they be a good option to replace his old injectors, instead of a rebuild or replacement in kind? Will the 16cm housing be a good swap, or will it raise EGT's too much (he doesn't have a gauge... probably wouldn't get one unless I bought it and installed it)?

I've searched and read and still not sure on these... for his truck.

Maybe I could offer to have his injectors rebuilt, and swap him for the 190's... :D

Thanks,

John

I'm non IC and have a 16 cm housing. It was a definate great change, lowered the rpm where boost starts by about 400/500 or so. No issues with EGT or excessive back pressure.

The 190s may not be noticable... . they are supposed to be about the equivilent in power to the original non IC injectors... however being new they should make the engine run smoother esp at the lower rpm ranges.

Be advised that if he goes with the 190s he will have to buy the "top hat" looking copper adapter bushings... the 89 has 9 mm injector bodies and the 190s are 7mm.
