Is my stock computer hardware capable of raising my idle when left to keep warm for extended periods? Can I do it? Where do i install a fuel pressure guage sender at, or just a guage to temporarly check it.
The only factory hardware is for when it is the motor is cold, like from sitting over night. There are aftermarket kits that you can buy to raise your idel when you will be letting it sit for long periods of time while running. I can't remember the names off hand.
Yes, your ecm has the ability, but it needs to be enabled or re-flashed at the dealer. It works on mine, but only once in the morning, after it sits all night when its colder than 20* F. Your probably far better off buying an after market high idle set up. Then it will work when you want it to.
There are a few to choose from

As for the fuel pressure gauge, you can get a test gauge from www.blackmountaindiesel.com or you can mount a permanent one in the cab... take your pick, there are about half a dozen or more vendors that make them.
