A lot of us are running Amsoil ATF in the power steering. Amsoil DOES NOT recommend this. They have done no testing on the Chrysler units.
Some others have used Valvoline Synthetic PS fluid, do a search on this site.

I use the series 2000 75W-90 in My Dana 80 HB.

According to Stratapore and Amsoil numbers, the Amsoil is still ahead in filtering and strength.

Very happy with sample results after about 60,000 on the Synthetics.

Did you use 2000 75W90 in the Dana 80 HB?
I'm using the heavier stuff, ??W-140. With a name like "TowPro", you might want to consider the heavier stuff too, even though I recall many saying the 75W-90 is plenty good enough.

I saw on another post you ordered already. Don't you trust that dealer to answer your questions? Or are you double checkin?
Just curious.

I see some of you post "amsoil synthetic front to back"

What did you change the power stearing fluid over to?

Did you use 2000 75W90 in the Dana 80 HB?

How does the amsoil oil filter compair to the fleetguard Stratapor?

That other post said, "I think I am ready to switch over". I am just trying to get a 2nd and 3rd opinion on some of their products. I don't have any doubts about there Oil's ability, I know which oil I will buy for each applications engine (I got 3 vehicles that run a combined 50K miles per year)

I want to see what everybody else is using (as far as Amsoil) Like in the NV-4500 HD, there GL-4 stuff sounds like it fits the application perfectly, but 99% of the Amsoil users here are running there series 2000 (GL-5).

I am really interested in what "users" have found on there oil filters. Are they better then the Stratapore as far as filtering capacity? I also have an email out to the dealer with more questions about the filters, but still it’s nice to here what the users are finding. The guy I called about Amsoil is very knowledgeable, but I want to here what others think.

That’s what is nice about this site; you can use the knowledge of other "consumers" and make educated choices based on their experience! Most of the consumers here don't sell products; they use them and will have an unbiased opinion.

TOW PRO,
No problem, I had just met a JERK of an Amsoil dealer, and I thought maybe you were having trouble.

I can see why some people hate Amsoil if they had talked to this guy.

Gene,
I agree that many people dislike Amsoil becasue of their selling techniques. Better said, they let anybody with $100 (or whatever the amount is) call themselves a dealer. I have come across many "Amsoil Dealers" that I'm sure my dog has a higher IQ than. At least if they are trying to sell me something they could put on a shirt without holes and yellow pit stains.

Sorry for the rant. I'm not trying to imply that all dealers are this way. In fact most of the dealers here on the TDR seems very intelligent and have researched what they are selling enough to be called a dealer.

The first few Amsoil dealers I came across years ago here in my town, I think turned me off to Amsoil products. I am starting to gain respect for Amsoil again, but they should do something about letting any Tom, Dick, or Harry sell their product, IMO.

I apologize for not relating to the original post. Ryan

BTW - Gene thanks for the emails. I haven't had much time to look them over yet.

Cooker,
Good point.
It also goes the other way, that big oil Companies hires any kid with a college education and puts him to work green, eh?
There is good and bad in all sales techniques. It just happens that most of us remember the bad!

A Boss once told me:
"It takes a 100 atta boys to make up for 1 you&*#&(*(&^^@##$#"

The man spoke truth!

Come on TowPro, I don't think anyone on this BB has an unbiased opinion when it comes to discussing oil. #ad

Seriously, I have had very good luck with all the Amsoil products I've used in my Ram (15W-40 HD Diesel & Marine, Series 3000 5W-30 HDD which I'm presently using, Dual Remote Bypass system + full flow and bypass filters, and Series 2000 75W-90 gear oil). All my oil analyses have shown the Amsoil engine oils are superior to everything I was using previously (Valvoline/Cummins Premium Blue and Premium Blue 2000 and Red Line 15W-40 synthetic).

..... just another unbiased opinion. #ad

BTW MGM (Gene), I received your email and will respond when I gather some more information. John
