Who has the most miles out of there 5. 9 Cummins? I need some numbers to give to my brother over at the Duramax forum. They think there engine will out last ours!!!

I have a 1996 with 65,000 on it.

Most I've seen any member here post on their truck is 750k by tdramrmbr. Don't think anyone here has done it but there are several around with over a million miles.

There was an older fellow that attended the Timberline Dodge get together 2 years ago that had over 1,000,000 on his. Most of that pulling a 5th wheel as I remember. I think he was from Texas and was on his annual pilgrimage to Alaska. Duramax and Ford have a ways to go before they can even think about trying to claim to be the mileage kings I think. ;)

My truck turned 250,000 last week. I plan on dynoing it this weekend (if all works out) and Al at PDR thinks I should be in the neighborhood of 450 hp at the wheels.

Dura what?:-laf :-laf :-laf :p

Tad under 162K on mine. One of the sale barns I haul cattle out of, there is a 2nd gen. 3500, C/C, 2wd with a 12v (not sure on year). Peeked through window and it has over 300k. He pulls a tri-axle Aluma-line stock trailer.

Paul Knapp had just about a 1/2 mil. before he had to do some major work. All on dino oil. It's a hotshot setup, so I guess you could say it was mostly hard miles. Last time he dynoed, did over 350hp up in Texas at Lewisville back in 2001, I think. It's a 96. DonM can vouch the numbers... . oh yeah... he can't respond. But Jim Fulmer can!! So can Strick-9.

Local Dodge got a traded in 2500 regular cab from a guy who tows new campers to dealers all over the country. I almost made that my first Cummins truck but I really wanted a quad cab so I waited. It had 268,000 miles and ran like new. No mods. Just a rock solid Cummins Dodge. He bought a new 02 3500 Quad.

I'm sure who ever bought is happy with it as it ran great and looked great.

"I have 175235 on my '02"

Yikes! that's incredible!

3000 per week makes my backside flat just thinkin' about it:eek:

98,226 just turned 3 in March other than steering problems I have been 100% happy with it and will be fixing the steering problems soon so I guess I will be 150% happy. I tow and drive hard too its not babied...

At work they have a '91 dodge cummins with 260,000 on it, and all that has been done is a front joint and a fuel pump, runs like a champ, and it's for sale. Runs way nicer and hauls better than their 93 international with the 7. 3. That motor has been overhauled already and only has 170,000 on it now. I hate that truck.

Nearing 400,000 KM on mine soon (250,000 Miles),and only thing that has failed engine wise,is the fuel heater. Plugged it back up,and it's been going ever since.

Truck wise, one ball joint, two track bars, and a few sets of brakes, that's it. Oh yeah, busted a slip yoke the other day.

I've got 205,000 on mine. Slightly bombed. Issue #40 had a gentleman in there with 1,050,000 miles... . still going..... he was hoping for somewhere around 1. 3million miles all said.

:--)

Lets see a Duramax hit that!:{

I have a 158,xxx on my 97 and my Mom has about 160,xxx on her 99, hers is also in the shop right now waiting on a new trans:{ all heavy towing.

I visited a friend I hadn't seen in many years in Pahrump, NV around Christmas 2001. He leases his truck to RV Transport hauling travel trailers and fifth wheels all over the country from manufacturers to dealers.

He owns a '94 2500 12 valve automatic 4x4 that he bought new. He has been hauling trailers since it was new.

I read the odometer with my own eyes... ... 675,000 miles, not kilometers! He told me that he had the engine rebuilt at 603,000 miles because the head gasket began seeping coolant. He claimed the cylinder walls and bearings showed little wear when it was torn down. His story made me wonder if he couldn't have had the head resurfaced and installed a new head gasket and "kept on trucking. " His truck looked like 675k miles but was still in service hauling trailers.

He told me that guys he knew who used Ford 7. 3 PSDs to haul RVs for the same transport company were getting about 400,000 mile to overhaul. He didn't know about Dura(not)Maxs at the time.

I have major doubt that a Dura(not)Max will run as many miles as a Cummins.

Million plus

Look in the new magazine . Tom Olding is in my area and has a 95[I think] with an amazing amount of original stuff still left. As a sidebar, a young lady who I bet is related to him [Sunny Olding] . just set a new state track record for the 3200 meter run. When she runs she wears

Those Oldings and Cummins-- built for the long haul.
