Just finnished my first long road trip pulling my 5th wheel. Seats (leather) in my 03 were the most uncomfortable in all my trucks. My 99 power seat allows the seat base to move up and down on the seat back. This allows you to change the shape of the seat on your butt and back. The 03 seats are fixed at the hinge area and simply pivot forward or backward. I got numb butt after only 4 hours. Anybody else having this problem?

Both of our seats go up and down as well. I would think you hae the same configuration since you have a laramie. The same adjustments as our 99, so I am wondering if a contact isn't working properly for you.

Yes the seats go up and down but it moves as one unit. No matter what you do to the power controls the seat base stays fixed to the seat back.

Bill, I posted a couple of times in other threads that I dislike the front seat comfort of the '03. My Y2k did not have perfect seats... . but they were far more comfortable than the new ones.

Bill, I had a 99 2500 Dodge prior to my current 03 and I would have to agree with you on the seat comfort issue. I also believe that the seats in the new truck are smaller or perhaps a better way to say it is shorter length on the bottom. My old truck seats seemed to give my legs more support between my knee and my butt, now less of my legs have support. I think I read someplace that the new seats are 2 or 3 inches smaller. I guess that extra back seat room has to come from someplace.

I may be missing something here, but I tilt the seat back with the handle on the side of the seat to get the angle I want.

I find the seats to be very comfortable. By using the seat, pedal and wheel adjustments I can get into just about any configuration I need. The leather seats on my Laramie is shorter than the cloth ones in my son's SLT.

My wife has complained about the new seats, but is getting used to them. One reason that I find them comfortable may be becuse I am short with legs to match (27" inseam).

Well, I'm not short (6'5"), but I am enjoying my leather seats a lot. This summer I drove about 13 hours all over VA, WV, KY and OH in one shot with only a few short breaks and my legs were fine afterward.

The seats on my '04 (manual, SLT) have more leg support than the ones in my 97 (ST, manual). With the right back angle, the new ones are very good for me. I find that the fuzzy cloth holds me in place better than leather which is tiring because I slip around more on the seat.

i love my seats i make 7hours trips all the time have not had my back or butt hurt once. cant say that for my 95 chevy. the seats were comfortable but to soft. i like a firm seat that will support my back. i like mine but they are cloth this may be the d/f.

I drove all the way from Tampa Fl to Pensacola and back towing our 5th wheel thinking how much more comfortable the seat was in my '01. 5 and '98. I felt pretty dense when it dawned on me that the handle on the side adjusts the back angle like Dean said. With the '01. 5 and '98 it was obvious with the quad cab. Even my '95 reg cab made it obvious by going behind the seat for storage. The new 4-door quad cab doesn't give any reason to lean the seat forward so it's easy to overlook the adjustment. At least that's my story. :D

I just finished up a 2000 mile trip in 36 hours(had to sleep for 5 hours) and don't think I could be much happier with the seat comfort. by the way I have a cloth seated SLT
