Who rides a KTM dirtbike?

Catalyst Problem? I Need Help!

I'm thinking I want to buy a 2K01 Honda CR500 here in the next couple months and bombing it. Good idea? Anyone else out there got a bike on the back of that diesel? CR500 sounds pretty good to the bed of my truck! My signature is gonna be long.

Hey Wirenut, I rode a 500 for years and your right they do look good in the back of a Dodge. Better yet they look even better dirty out on the trail. For now I am only ridding half a bike (CR 250) because that's what my sponsor wants me to do.

what are you going to be using it for? i have a kx 500 and love it. if this is your first dirtbike the 500 might be a tad much #ad
. the problem with the 500's is that they are pretty much unchanged for the last 10 years. if you plan on racing the bike get a 250. if you are going to spend a bunch of time at the dunes get a 500. i hill climb with mine and love it. the 250 is a good trail bike also. the new 400 4strokes are great bikes also.

I'm with the others, had a 500, now a 250, like it much better, lighter and easier to maneuver. Still end up riding my Trail 90 the most though...

Wirenut:

I don't have anything to compare to a
CR 500, but... . I have a 98' Honda CR
125. However, my son has a Yamaha Banshee
4-wheeler set up for "TT" racing which
has a "Duncan Racing 403 Eliminator
Engine" in it. That thing will "fly!!!"

Oh it's undoubtedly gonna be a CR500 if anything. I had a KX 500, a YZ 490, then last year I bought a 99 YZ400F brand new. I'd like to try out the new 426 yamaha's but I think they're out of my price range and none of the shops around here are gonna have any for a while they said. I can't even touch the ground on any of these bikes, I'm a little guy, but I'm crazy! We don't have any dunes or even very much open space to ride around here. I just love the power of a big bike... actually it's not even enough. If I get this bike, I'm gonna bomb the crap out of it so I can really get hurt! It'll already be faster than everyone (cept maybe that guy I saw with a 426) but I'm gonna make it even faster!!! It's the same as trucks, they can NEVER have enough power #ad

I think I'm gonna get a bike this year too, not a 500 though... I love power but I like to walk too. 250's right for me. Think a Suzuki will fit in the short box with my bombed 250 r wheeler?... . I'll have 6 different brands... Honda 4 wheeler (250r), polaris jet ski(785 pro), arctic cat sleds 440, 678 mod), suziki bike (250), pontiac (boneville ssei) and my DODGE (MY FAVORITE ONE).

If I had a choice about getting a new bike I'd get the ktm520exc, 103mph top speed, 6sp, electric start, only 7 more lbs than my 426 and 3 more hp, 52hp verses 49. Mine however is a broader power range and is more suited for a track rather than a perfect overpowered all around bike. #ad

my bike is a y2k but had ti valves in it and a whitebrother pipe, its fast but I'd take the electric start because that can be a *itch, but not with electic starter.

Been out of the mx business for 15 years now but have owned 13 bikes, all suzuki, all mx except the last one which was a 4 stroke and without a dought the funist bike I ever owned!I had a chance to ride for suzuki factory but got married and started a family instead, I still am glad I did. Kevin

I love my Husaberg 501. It has as much power as my CR500 did plus the 6 speed transmission is WAY better for desert riding. I just wish it handled like my CR. Only weighs about 10 pounds more. That left-sided kickstarter took some time to get used to!
