I wonder how many HP it was making when it blew. Kinda started sounding sick a few seconds before destruction. Interesting setup, though. Looks like a sled pulling motor.

not mine... looked like a 5. 9 as best as I can tell is why I posted it... what do you guys think?

I like the 53 block qoute... about fell out of my chair laughing

It looks like a 12 valve 5. 9 to me also. Look at the p-pump.

53 block, yea pretty funny.

I doubt the 53 block had anything to do with the failure. If you watch the vidieo, there was smoke coming out between the head and block some time before the head came off. There is a lot of turbo in front of the engine. Head bolt failure is probably cause of catastrophy, it's a wonder someone wasn't maimed. bg

nothing those little bowtie wearing geeks build will EVER compare to what the real truck builders create. These engines are built just the same way BIG trucks are, to last a million miles with NO internal issues, and they NAILED IT!!! have you ever noticed when the magazines spec out a "hot" dinkymax, they devote a whole paragraph to the internals? rods, pistons, crank, and everything is balanced, bluprinted(?) and massaged in some way, all to survive the power level that a STOCK BLOCK and HEAD cummins willthrive at? (other than head studs, which CAN be swapped without removing the head) I have made a RELIABLE 490+ hp rwp (maybe 600hp crank ) and drove it with NO issues for over 200k mi. My good buddy, who USED to drive a GOVERNMEN MOTORS diesel would regularly get left in the dust and cummins smoke towing our almost identical 5ers finally saw the stupidity of driving a "wanna be a corvette" when there was work to be done. he now drives a early (12 valve) 2nd gen and is happier than he EVER was with that 06 money magnet !!!! TAKE THAT, BOWTIE BOY
