Run two 3000 mile changes with Rotella or Delo, then run one more of Rotella or Delo for about 1000 miles. That is as clean as you will get it. If you use a flush you have OO a lot bigger than me.

Don't know that much about Amsoil Motor Flush although I have used it on several gas engines and had no problems. Didn't use it on the dodge cause it did not have that many miles on it before I started using Amsoil. Friend of mine used it on his Ford PS before he switched to Amsoil at 66000+. No problems since he switched.

I'm scairt of 'em (flushes). My method has been to change to the synthetic, then run a "normal" or "short" drain interval for one or two changes before going longer. Any "regular" on this board is not the kind of guy (or gal) who have been going too long and letting any significant sludge build up in the first place.

I used the Amsoil flush

Doc, I used the Amsoil engine flush when I went from Delo 400 to Amsoil 15W-40 HDD&M at 32K miles on my engine. I then went 5K on my first dose of Amsoil, sent in a sample to Blackstone as I have with the Delo since day one, changed the oil and filter, then went another 5K on the next dose of Amsoil, sampled and changed filter, and will next change the Amsoil when it gets a total of 10K on the current dose. As of today, I am on my second dose of Amsoil, with a total of ~12K miles on Amsoil. All oil analysis reports have been great since day one.

Oh, I used 2 cans of the Amsoil engine flush, as per their recommendations. I followed their directions when using it.

Just my personal experience.

Myself i dont like the thought of engine flushes. If there is alot of sludge and crap in the motor , then when the flush is put and cleans this sludge out it gets caught up in the pickup screen. Unless the oil pan is going to be removed and the screen cleaned,i would just do a few quick oil changes as already mentioned. Good luck.

Doc, First question is how many miles on the motor and the next questions is how often did you change the oil and filter. If you were doing the service every 3,000 as some folks do, then you probably do not have any sludge to worry about. If recommended oil changes are observed, sludge build up should not occure due to the suspension agents that are in the oil ;)
