SMARTY for DMAX's????

What turbo S300?

Now that I've switched to Amsoil synthetic motor oil I'm considering installing a bypass filter. I've narrowed it down to either the Frantz or Motor Guard toilet paper units. There seems to be plenty of TDR info on the Frantz but not the Motor Guard. For those using the MG, any problems. Does the clamp screw handle have any kind of locking mechanism, any chance it could loosen up with vibration. How was the install.

Thanks,

Bill

I just took delievery of a motor guard. Looks like a top notch piece of equipment. The only problem I'm having is all the fittings that came with it, as I'm not excactly sure which to use. The instruction are pretty generic, guess I can figure it out though.

Motor Guard

If I remember they both use TP so the only diff would be they load a little differantly. Might be a little easier, but I have not tried theirs. Also I think

they offer a refill cartridge for drop in change. R C

I'm a couple hundred miles from my first tp change, no problems yet. The handle on the MG will not loosen, once it is tightened down it is down. You'll get an extra oil seal for the canister and he'll write on the box the size of the seal which you can get at any parts store. I did have to fab up a bracket for it so I could install it as there isn't really any good place to put it as far as I could tell.

Been running Motorguard for about a year now. So far so good. One trick I've found is to use a plastic bag when removing used tp, otherwise it can get messy. The hardest part about the whole TP filter thing is finding the right TP at the store. When I see them, I stock up...

Oil Filter

A Masaro... . which tp brand do you feel is best for filtering quality, efficiency, etc. and why is it hard to find. R C

They suggest you use Scott 500 2ply, but whichever tightly wound TP would work... Not the loose, fluffy stuff my wife likes... :D

As far as filtering quality... All I know is that any TP filter is going to filter sub-micron levels. No other type of filter will do this.
