I know you guys love to talk about boots, so here goes.
I recently switch back to street bikes after spending the last 8 years exclusivly on dirt bikes. I was wondering if any of you have any type boots you they prefer for street bike riding.
I have looked at the boots made by the aftermarket companys "deticated" for street bike use. They are sort of expensive and I bet not as good a quality as other boots I can buy for the same price.
Do I want Steel Tow?
I think I would like to stay away from a waffle print because they always track mud into the house. Do I want one with out a heal? I ride most of the time with the balls of my foot on the pegs (left over from the dirtbike days) but some times I do center my foot on the pegs, will the heal catch my foot onto the peg when I least expect it? Here is a picture of what the soles of most deticated riding boots looks like, not much heal.
Do I want lace up to provide ankle support? or would an "engineering" style boot be better because they go up higher?
I am not worried about water proof or insulated, I already have a boot I can wear for when it gots cold, and I try not to ride in the rain.
I love my Chippewa boots but I wear they to work, and the shifter will mark them up real quick.
