Bad news is that a delivery truck tipped my bike. good news is they will go full boat on fixing it by trading heating fuel for the full cost of repair and have already done so. I can keep the $ or get it fixed. Trying to be financially careful,I was thinking about having the dents professionally pulled and doing the fill ,sand and paint stuff myself--I am a decent painter who has the equipment. What I need to know is if I can trace out the decals, scan them in to a computer, and get a sign guy to make them up.

BTW--I am not knocking the estimates of about $450 for the pros to do this work. They were willing to R&R all the emblems, paint the basecoat, paint two color "decals" and then clear over it. In better times,I doubt if they would even have time for a little job like this. A new tank is out of the question as none are available worldwide.

As far as color match goes, look at a Honda gas tank in white, and that is the color. The decals are red and black

What kind of bike? If it were me unless it was an extremely complex design (and maybe even then) I'd just paint the whole thing right on the tank rather than do clean over decals again.

Hi,Steve

It is a Honda CB100. Just pretty much a red triangle with a black strip on top. I have never tried painting one color on top of another or painting anything other than enamel. The shame of it is that this 1972 model bike looked really good in original paint and only has 2600 miles on her.
