Motorized scooters

Well, I couldn't get the right deal on the BMW Dakar bike right now so I am going to hold off til spring, which brings me to this question.



Are the motorized scooters worth it? I am moving across the road from my work. I could walk it, or ride my bike, and probably will most the time, but a scooter would be cool for quick jaunts back and forth to the apartment and work for lunch, etc, or if it's raining, snowing, whatever.



Anyone know of some decent brands, where to direct me, etc? Are they a pain to start, etc. I know all it is is a weedeater with wheels but you never know. Thanks, I appreciate it!

My Dad has one and it goes along pretty well... probably 25 mph with me on it. He got it for $200 from some place down in Colorado Springs. It is built fairly well, handles OK, and has a rear disc brake. Anything more than a hill will really slow it down. What is the law for licensing or riding on the street?

Not sure about the law. I would be riding it on the sidewalks and across Lincoln, that's it! I may not even get one, but would be nice on bad weather days in the winter or early spring. I don't want to drive my truck a block to work, I would have to go kill an hour of driving just to warm it up!
