I have two PIAA 510's that I have yet to install. I have all the wiring done and just have not gotten around to taking the bumper off, fabing up brackets etc.

After looking at my buddies chevy that has off road light mounted to the top of the front bumper, I kind of like the looks, ease of aiming and maintance so I am thinking about mounting mine in the same fashion.

Does anyone have any pics of their (or others) trucks with lights mounted this way?

can I just drill through the top of the bumper/bumper cover and bolt them up or is the bumper top not thick enough to do that? Is there gonna be interference with the grill (second gen that raises with the hood) when the hood is opened?? Or is there a light bar type mount that has to be used?

Thanks in advance,

J-

I use the bumper for support when changing fuel filters. IMO I wouldn't put lights there.

are u saying because the bumper would not be strong enough for the lights or that they would get in the way when u changed ff's?

I have a fass so my ff's are back by my tank.

I use to use a Smittybilt Outland (shown below) to hold my lights until I met up with a deer. The Outland saved my truck but was damaged so I upgraded to a Buckstop bumper. It is equipped with PIAA 540 Plasma Ion's (amber) specifically purchased for the fog, but I have to confess, they are a total disappointment! They shed no light and both lenses cracked as soon as they saw snow.
