Where the heck have you fellas found a, "good location", to mount the Brite box?

I don't just want to tie it off to the battery box or A/C hoses. I'd prefer a more solid mounting. Any suggestions?

Also, I noticed that I seem to already have the cutouts for the sport headlight assemblies, and I think I have the harness in place for the dual lights. I can feel another socket under the battery box. Is this possible?

Unfortunately, at present I'm in the middle of moving and don't have access to my tools or a garage to work in to further investigate on my own.

What battery box are you feeling under? The driver's side battery box has a temperature sensor for the battery about mid-length.

I think you're out of luck on the sport harness. The sport version for model year 2000 has a relay for the high-beam circuit (in PDC), and the non-sport doesn't.

I just installed sport headlamps in my non-sport 2000 Ram. I made my own harness—12 gauge wire and switched with relays. My wiring utilizes all four low-beam filaments (OEM sport trucks don't). An additional relay gives me my own version of the Brite Box.

If you drill a single hole in the end of the battery tray you can use a single nylon tie to securely mount your Brite Box. The wire on the Brite Box was long enough to mount this way on the passenger side of my truck prior to the sport headlamp transplant.

Thanks for the reply Tom. The hole in the side of the battery tray was the only way I also could think of. I guess that's what I'll do.

Regarding that supposed extra socket, it's under the passenger side battery tray. Any idea what it could be?

No clue. I've not seen this on my model year 2000 Ram.

If you are into washing the engine compartment, keep water away from the Brite Box. My old Brite Box kept the lights on always after a washing session. After things dried out, all was well.

I took the passenger side battery tray out and bolted my britebox to the inside of the forward support. I pulled on the cables to get some slack and put it back together . It is out of the way and i can reach the plugs if need be with out taking anything out.
