Mounting my GPS in my 08

Guys where can i mount my gps in the cab of my truck without sticking it to the windshield? is there a mod i can make to the gps mounts or anything? its a Garmin nuvi

I've always used Garmin Nuvi units. I use the adhesive backed disc stuck on the dash top above and to the right of the instrument panel. I think some states are now prohibiting anything attached to windshields.

I use a bag mount, it just sits on top of the dash, doesn't slide around at all, bought it at Wal-mart 19. 95

I also have a Garmin friction bag mount. I've used it for years and it works great.

I also have a Garmin friction bag mount. I've used it for years and it works great.

X2 I like being able to easily and quickly remove it from the dash and setting it on the floor to keep it out of sight when parked.

I made a small metal plate that sits in one of the openings next to the radio. The plate was Velcro in and fit-under the rubber pad. The plate had rounded corners to eliminate the sharp edges. I then used the mounting plate for the Garmin GPS on the leading edge of the plate. This seems to work well until I upgraded to the Rand McNally 7710 model. I had to redesign the mounting system on the Rand McNally GPS too to fit below the dash site line. I have attached a picture or two of the Gramin mounting.

Might not work for you but I have a cap with no rear window so the inside rear view mirror is useless.

SOOOOOOOO... ... . made a bracket out of aluminum that just slides over the rear view mirror, velcro on the GPS and bracket.

Voila. easy on and easy off when using the GPS. When the cap is off just slide the bracket off.

Just a thought, you might look at the dash pods or pillar mounts for Edge CTS. I also have a Nuvi and it looks about the same size but I haven't checked out specs yet. I just use the suction cup as I change vehicles quite a bit. I just looked but it looks like the pillar pod for CTS is currently made for the 2010 and up models

Go to GPSCITY.com and checkout the RAM mounts. You can find a mount for most anything including motorcycles, 4 wheelers.
I have been using them for about 8 years and zero problems. They are Only Online orders and located in Las Vegas.
