Mounting Mopar splash guards

Any tips for mounting the Mopar splash guards (NOT the molded ones). I have the plain "anti-spray" ones from the accessory catalog. The directions are not real clear, just says "line guard so that all four holes match contour of the fender". Well the contour of the splash guard and fender are not an exact match, Does the front tires need to be removed to gain enough access to drill the mounting holes?

Any tips or advise to make this easier will be helpful.

i am not sure on how they line up on the fender. but after you drill the holes i would use some touch up paint on the bare metal. and add a dab or silicone in the hole so rust won't start. i have done it this way for years with good luck.

if you can take the wheel off, it makes it easier. but it isn't necessary. I did it on my 98 with the wheels on.

I mounted them by moving them around until i found a look I liked. I liked them sticking out slightly on the sides and low enough to catch rocks. Then I drilled the top hole, gooped it up with silicone and tightened that screw down. This pretty much held the flap in place for me.

You'll have to have a pretty steep angle on the rest. You can also try going in from the side. My screws don't stick out and they look good.

Make sure you armor-all them every time you wash your truck. Keeps that unsightly gray oxidation off of them.
