I've been looking at getting the Fass setup, but it just hangs down too low for my taste, and just too exposed.

So I was thinking about mounting it in the Bed, and making a box to protect it from cargo.

Has anyone tried this? I'm wondering if the Fass can lift the fuel up that high from the tank without causing problems, or if it's even OK to mount the pump above the tank.

I see the KORE truck did this also, but he was running a fuel cell which was mounted up higher in the truck than the stock tank.

Just looking for suggestions. If I can't do it, I'm prolly just going to buy the Fass pump w/o filters, and run an aftermarket filter setup up somewhere in the engine compartment.

CIverson: I recently installed an Air Dog (similar to FASS) that mounted on the inside of my 2005 frame rails. It is out of the way and easily serviced. I eliminated the factory fuel pump, ran a new fuel line thru a 12 micron fuel filter/water separator and then into the Air Dog filtering/pump. It works fine and I think you would be happier with the additional filtering.

My FASS hangs on a bed mount and the filters do not stick below 1" of the bottom of the body in that location.

Its hard to even see the thing without being under it!

I dont know if you can mount in this location with a SB style truck.
