Saw K-19 last night. Very good sub movie. Right up there with Hunt for the Red October. Good acting, didnt rely on special effects. Very emotional, dramatic, and heroic. You could see the fear in the eyes of the actors as they went to die to attempt to save the rest of the crew.

The movie is based on a Soviet sub's madien voyage in 1961. Something happened and people died. Kept secret till the Soviet Union Fell. Its kind of long, 2:20. But earned a thumbs up from me and my friend. I had a free pass for 2 people to see a sneak preview. we got free t-shirts and posters.

The True Story of the K-19 Reveals the once secret and nearly forgotten accident aboard the Soviet's first ballistic missile submarine, the K-19. In 1961, a reactor accident threatened to destroy the sub and kill all on board. As the reactor neared meltdown and radiation levels rose, the crew raced against time to devise a cooling system. 24 brave men gave their lives in a superhuman effort to save the boat and the world from environmental catastrophe. This is their story. TV G
