Morgan's Corner All Diesel truck/tractor pull and dyno

so im from the seattle, wa area and was down in the tampa area last week... anyways my question is. . i dont think ive saw one 4x4 ram down there. . let alone a long bed diesel... ... question is, should i sell the rig up here? (love my truck and really dont want to. . it just not practical in fl) or try to sell it down there??? its basically a gimic of a truck in fl so maybe itll sell for more? or maybe less cause its 4x4???? i dont know. . i just figured id ask here before hand... ..... thanks

We do diesels in FL. For heavy haulers the cattle guys do a lot of diesels. The fruit independents do 1 ton DRW trucks exclusively. Diesels are not as common as other parts of the country though.

When you move, we (state of FL) are going through a crisis in land taxes and insurance within 50 miles of the water (gulf or atlantic). Be careful, a lot of insurers WILL NOT write policies at all and are pulling out of the state completely. Most companies that will write insurance within 50 miles of water the rates are HUGE. The land valuation within 20 miles of the water has gone nuts in the last couple of years and the taxes along with it.

A lot of people (close to the water) can not sell because the buyer can not get insurance and therefore no mtg. The housing market has collapsed and you should be able to SUBTRACT 20% from any "offered" price.

After the 3 hurricanes of 2004 insurers are leary. Oh, NEW building code standards (how the roof is tied into the walls) state wide went into effect in 2000. A house built after 2000 will be easier to insure. I would not go earlier than 2001 to be sure you get the new building codes.

We have a loose central FL TDR. I am in Winter Haven. Look me up when yu get down here.

Wow ... Bob you hit the nail on the head ..... housing in FL SUCKS right now ... my insurance went from $1,100 a year to $2,900 in 2 years ... ... . and my Taxes have trippled

I had kind of the same thought when I moved here in May. I live in the Orlando area. There certainly aren't the diesels around here that I am used to. Lots of lifted 1/2 tons and lifted Powerstrokes. I came from an area with lots of truck pulls to an area with none. Therefore the 12v puller was sold much to my chagrin. Good luck on the move. Don't be surprised when you really see the types and condition of the vehicles they let on the road down here! I enjoy driving my truck around town. I think the 12v would have been more fun since it was a bit obnoxious compared to the stock 06. If you absolutely have to or want to sell it, I would lean towards selling it where you are at now. I would have had a really hard time selling my puller if it was down here. But that is a little bit more impractical for city driving.

Any of you interested in drag racing? The 1st year of the NHRDA in FL is almost to an end but we are looking at 2008... . and if all goes well I am gonna try to put on a few pulls next year

If you make them truck pulls I would be interested, but not sure how well it work on this sand down here? :-laf
