I will be moving to the Ogden area of Utah in August, wondering how bad the emmisions testing and safety inspection are for diesel trucks? I have owned my truck since new, but it has never had to be inspected.

Right know weber country does not have emmisions on diesels Davis Country to the south does

They talk about it every couple of years by the way . Ogden is in Weber country we just have a yearly state inspection

Thanks, that was what I was wondering. Not sure where I will be living, I will be working at Hill AFB, and am thinking North and West of the base.

Yes mfurrh55 that is correct. Hill is on the border between the two countys so stay to the north lots of homes just depends on how much home or land you need, what will you be doing at Hill ?

West of Hill is somewhat limited until you get up north of Ogden, the Great Salt Lake is big, and I would suggest that living close to it is not a good idea (the lake level is not constant). The bigger question is what kind of a place are you looking for? Farr West and Plain City are west of I15 and north of Hill. I'll be out that way next week again (family related stuff). Anything I can look at for you?

I will be working as an equipment specialist (civilian) for the 388th Maintenance Group. I have lived in the area before, but it was back in the 90s and back then diesels were exempt. I will have year to look for a house, as the family will stay here in NM so my youngest can finish out HS here. Thank you for the off JLeake, I appreciate it. Not real sure what we will be looking for, we don't own any livestock, I just like to hunt and fish, well and cast bullets and shoot, but I will never be able to afford that much property, especially not in the Salt Lake Basin.
