MP 3 player

does anybody know if our trucks have a output jack where i can install a mp3 player. my truck has a 6disc in dash radio.

I just removed my factory single CD player from my 04. 5 2500 and installed my JVC mp3 player. If you want mp3, you can either change out the stereo head unit for an after market or buy one of the after market CD changers that support mp3, Sony & JVC both offer them that have RF modulators that feed the audio into the radio receiver on an FM channel that you can set. The sound may not be as good as direct audio, but I have seen good reports and not so good reports. If you want to change out the radio for an after market, there are kits to mount the after market unit and wiring connectors to mate with the existing harness so you are not cutting wires in the truck, it is pretty easy and getting the old unit out and the new unit in is easy.

I wanted an MP3 player in my truck, but decided to get a Sirius receiver instead. It is a whole lot less work and the sound is much better.

i remember there being an adapter device that allows you to plug an aux device into the factory head unit. tricks the head unit into thinking the factory external cd changer is installed and runnning... i'll post the link to the device if i can find it

I think you mean INPUT jack, and no there isn't one. Yet another reason I'm going wiht an aftermarket head unit.
