Just got back from a 350+ mile round trip in my new Ram. The route took me through the mountains, desert and highway. I tried to keep it at 65 or slower, never stomped on it from a light, and the tailgate was up the whole trip. used about 21 gallons of fuel. that is 16 to 17 mpg, the truck now has 640 miles and is ready for towing. The fuel gauge read just below half a tank when i filled it up, my calc, tells me that i could have gotten another 200+ miles if the tank really had 36 gallons when i started. that 550 miles out of one tank. my old chevy gas was lucky if i got 300 miles out of a tank(34 gallon). I'm in love with this truck.

The over head mpg read 16. 3 when i pulled into the fuel station.

:D :D :D

first trip spokane wa to seattle over pass. overhead shows 17. 2

500 on truck, up pass in 6th enough power to add another gear.

absolutly no problems, comfortable seats, no rear end whine nothing to complain about.

I went to Maine this weekend and clocked over 1800 miles for the trip. I got 16. 4 going up and doing as fast as i could. steady around 75 to 85 with the traffic.

On the way home I kept the tach around 2,000 rpm and got 19. 2 mpg. I am pretty impressed with that mileage but doing 67 mph will get you run over on some of these roads. have a total of 3900 miles on the truck now. I put 65 psi in alll four tires and replace the air box with the box out of the 03 that has the 4 inch hole in it.

should only get better.

At almost 27K I am getting about 19+ on all the tanks I am not towing. When I tow it's around 13-15 depending on the terain and weather. The truck is stock except for drilling the air intake box. I almost always get fuel at Flying J in Fife Washington except when I am on trips.

My Best MPG so far

Hand Calculated today 19. 7. The best I ever got out of my 01. 5 HO 6spd was 20. 2 or so.

2700 miles on the clock. BFG AT tires, 50PSI front, 45 rear. Driving around central Indiana on I65 mainly, with about 50 miles on the tank around town stuff. Speeds were 65 to 70 except for through Indianapolis twice (went to Columbus to tour the Cummins MidRange Engine Plant) where speed limit is 55 and I did about 60 and still got passed by everything going.

The engine just keeps on getting more push as it settles in.

By the way, I highly recommend the plant tour at CMEP. On the tour you are allowed to ask employees questions. Everyone without exception was very friendly and seemed eager to be helpful in answering questions.

17. 4 hand calculated on my first tank. 50% HWY(70-80 mph) 50% country road/city.

Not bad and expect it to get better.
