I was wondering if anyone has used one of these:

If just the spotless drying works, it might be worth it. I can't get the truck clean and dry before I get water spots.

Any good results?

It really helps with the water spots on mine. Our water has a lot of calcium, and spotting was always a real problem.

I'm going to try it. Someone recomended it to me that has a black p/u & said it works great no need to shami it dry. They said they got it at wal mart for $40. 00 I seen it on amazon.com for $26. 99 no shipping chg.

IMHO it was the biggest POS ive bought..... although it was nice that the unit had a water filter in it... thats about the only part of it i still use when i wash my truck...

So you just use it to rinse with? That's what I'd want it for. I think the rinse water is what leaves the water spots. I wish I had a lot of distilled water to rinse with.

I think a lot has to do with the technique one uses with it. I soak the truck down, soap down a section, scrub it, rinse it with regular water, then rinse it with filtered water and move on to the next section. When I'm finished, I'll rinse the truck again with filtered water - the secret is not to let the soap or regular water dry on the truck.

Yea I was thinking of trying a rv water filter that screws on to the hose bib.

I use it to wash my 32 foot travel trailer & have good results. I use regular car washing soap instead of Mr Clean's soap. I find that on the final rinse I let it run more than might be necessary. Good product. Just be sure to watch the filter color. When it turns brown change it. Good luck.

It works great, if you follow the directions there are no spots. The soap is the best soap I have ever seen, the last time I used it the sponge was black from the filth it took off the truck, and the truck did not even look dirty. I think the paint looks cleaner than when I have washed it with any other type of soap. They sell them at Wal-Mart and when I bought mine there was a coupon for I think $5 off from the Mr. Clean website.

I'm with ya on this. It's a great way to stretch a 45 minute wash job into two hours. If anybody wants mine, pay the shipping and I'll send it to you.

here's a little hint for ya. that rinse agent is just spot free rinse agent for dishwashers :D you can refill using that.

I use a device from horticultural industry, i hooks to my faucet prior to the garden hose. it has a siphon tube on it to submerge in a bucket of fertilizer. used with water soluble fertilizer it injects the fertilizer in with the water stream.

Well, use it and dishsoap or car soap to wash with and dishwasher rinse agent to rinse with and you have a home grown MR. Clean. I have a water softener on the house so i dont need their ill attempt at softening the water as it comes out the hose.

I'll see if i can locate where to purchase that gadget i have and post it her for you :D

here you go: $14. 95 http://www.growerssolution.com/page/GS/PROD/siphon/siphon-mixer

My father in law gave me mine. I went and looked and it had the name right on it. He owned a greenhouse/nursery for 25 years

Oh yeah, and the added benefit is you can actually use it to water your flower beds and plants and not have to mess with mixing and spraying them seperate. He used Peter's triple 20 (20/20/20) religiously and so do we.

I dont have the entire kit, but just the spray unit. It works well, I have a black suburban and it makes cleaning that thing easier. Just remember to start at the top and work your way down. Also, as mentioned earlier, don't let any non filtered water or soap dry on the car. Another tip, don't wash the car in direct sunlight, find a shady spot.

I've often wondered about this kit, mostly because I'm too lazy (and haven't been a homeowner long enough to have enough towels) to dry my truck. Water spots haven't been an issue since I put a hose bib on my water softener. :)

So is it true? No towels required?

No it is not true. I thought it helped after my first use but after futher review and new filters it is a POS.

Turns my sponges black, too. Never had any water spotting trouble with it, either, which is nice.

But I've stopped using it. I have a nasty feeling the soap is too powerful and it strips the wax right off the finish. I can't find anything in its literature indicating it doesn't strip wax.

My roomates ex-girlfriend left the whole Mr. Clean setup behind after she moved out.

I tried it out once, and it found it's way to the dumpster. :-laf
