Hey Juanito, I saw your hood in the classifieds, have you beed carrying that around since May Madness? If it was my year I would buy it, but alas, it is not.
Hi Big, Juanito is correct in that my truck is a 2001 and the main horizontal member of the hitch is open on both ends. I used the open ends to mount my flaps and they sit back under the rear bumper. They work well for rocks which is what I built them for but have noticed that if I drive through anything wet there is a space between the bottom of the small Mopar flaps that are mounted to the truck and the top of my custom flaps that allows water to hit the front of my trailer.
The solution that I am going to try is another set that mounts up closer to the wheels and closes this space. They would end up right against the exhaust on the right side of the truck but I don't see that as anything that would have any negative issues as my exhaust is pointed down anyway.
I used the openings that were in the hitch bar because it seemed like a strong and easy place to mount them, and it is indeed both of those. If I do move them forward I will have to weld a bracket on the hitch itself to carry the flaps where I would like to have them. It is still a work in progress.
If your truck does not have the same hitch with the open ends then you will have to figure out another method for mounting.
If you need any pictures of what I did for details let me know and I'll post them.
