I just traded my 01 for an 03 and am in the process of adding all the necessary accessories. I need some mudflap ideas. I had the molded dodge mudflaps on my 01 they looked great, but didn't do the job. They just weren't long enough. You could tell by the rooster tail of missing paint on my rocker panels and the rear fender. I stopped at a dealer to see if they had something better and they didn't seem to think so. The parts guy tells me he has never heard of the flaps not being long enough and he has them on his Dakota and has no chips. DUUUHHHH! Last I checked the 01's are a little higher off the ground and need a longer flap to protect the paint. I don't really want chrome just a good flap to protect the newest addition to the family. :D :D ;)

TIA

I had the same concerns as you did with the length so I went with www.kaydenco.com

I wanted rubber but couldn't find any so I settled for these. Look and fit very good. Long enough and wide enough to keep truck "clean".

These look pretty nice!! Which ones did you go with? There is a big selection to choose from, just curious which one you decided to go with. Did you get the chrome weights also.

Thanks

These are for the SRW-

Style #7 for the front- w/o weights

Style #9 for the rear- w/o weights

I didn't get the weights because $ was a little tight at the time and I am going to put black accessories (toolbox, nerfbars, front-end repl, etc) on so it didn't bother me not having them.

I will say that when I get around to it I will be replacing the self-tapping screws with nuts and bolts because I drive through some rough pastures and have already started to pull the screws out. This was why I wanted rubber, they have some give, these are hard plastic.

Very happy with them though.

I went with the Mopar rubber flaps. $35 per pair from the dealer. They work fine so far, I have the rear ones on now. $70 plus tax and they fit! :D

The Cummins store has them, but if your like me and don't like a lot of logos, the cummins flaps are not the ticket IMO.

I like plain black. Now one of those chrome Cummins Power plates would look nice on the tail gate.

I went through this exact dilemma when my truck started getting rock chips after only a couple thousand miles. Looked at the Mopars, which are too short to protect the paint, also looked at the Cummins flaps on their site and thought they looked to redneck for my taste.

Went with Kaydenco flaps, have had them for about 2K miles and think they are great! I am not a fan of flaps, wish I didn't need them, but I like my factory paint. I went with the 12"x24" front and rear, stainless weights on the rear, I think they look good on the truck.

Let me know if you have any questions on them. Dennis is the owner at Kaydenco, nice guy in business for himself, takes good care of his customers.

I had a '01 and used the mud/rain flaps from Dodge. They (dealership) tried to sell me the 4x2 flaps (which are about 5" shorter than the 4x4 flaps.

They worked great and were cost effective.

Thanks

Frank

I also have the mopar rubber flaps. Mopar has three different styles of flaps now. They are different than the molded flaps that most stock trucks end up with. These are pretty wide and are nice and thick. I'll post a pic in a little while.

Northwest Custom

I have been trying to get in touch with Northwest Custom for two weeks. I have called and left voice messages and I've emailed them (many times). No response. Anyone have any ideas.

I need pricing and availability on their flaps, now.

Thanks,

Bill

DMKelley those look great - not too tacky looking. As long as those protect well, thats the way I'll probably go, unless otherwise equal plain black mats are cheaper. . I'm about to order a new truck so am also investigating flap options:cool:

Whats the story with the weights, are they necessary? Do flaps rob any mpg with the wind resistance?

Thanks guys!

Just ordered a set of rear flaps from kaydenco. Really liked Jason's, but couldn't wait that long- he's a busy guy. Thanks again, GREG
