Just took delivery of the molded plastic mudflaps for my Dad's 2500. I ordered 'em through Geno's. Anyway, on the box it says Dodge Ram 4x4 Splash Guards (Mopar).
My Dad's it a 2wd. Is there any difference in the fender/wheelwell opening between a 2x and a 4x? I hope not, since I already have them Christmas wrapped!

I don't think there is any difference in the wheel opening or the fit. The 4X4 flaps may be a little longer since the truck is higher. It they are that shouldn't be a problem.

Jerry, the fenders are the same. The four wheel drive flaps will protect a lot better than the two wheel drive flaps. The only difference is the 4wd flaps are a lot longer than the 2wd. A lot of the dealers only sell the 4wd because the others don't sell because they don't protect very well.

Thanks guys! That's what I was hoping to hear.
Merry Christmas,

love driving it!

Mopar Bill,
Thanks for the idea on the flaps. As for racing head to head with my Dad... ... it would be an interesting event. My truck is running an ATS turbo, Hypermax Intercooler, straight piped and the fuel is cranked. The down fall is I have 3. 55 rears with 35" tires. Although it still get up there fast! I hope to swap in some 4. 11's soon!
My Dad's 2500 is pretty much stock except for the cat/muffler delete #ad
He also has 3. 55's but is running stock size tires.
Even if I did beat him in a race, he would still have bragging rights... ..... he gets 22-24mpg consistantly, and I only get 15-17mpg.
Well, I'm rambling, catch ya'll later and everybody have a safe and wonder Christmas/New year!

I have the 4x4 mudflaps on my 2wd, work great. Another thought, the 4wd have the wheel well liners installed to keep mud in the tire area only. The 2wd's don't have them. I bought a set for my Dad's 2wd gasser, and my brothers installed them when they came in. As I recall they were about $70-$80 for the pair. Then all you need is a handful of 1/4" Stainless hardware.
Merry Christmas!
