I am going to install a set of Mopar mudflaps on my truck. The fasteners they send are all plastic. Should I use these or would stainless rivets be a better option. The flaps are rubber and heavy. Thanks for your input.

Are you sure they are plastic. Mine were coated with a plastic/rubber, the instruction says to keep it from rusting. I have the splashlish type.

I got the one piece units from Dodge and they are the same as FTB87, steel with a rubber coating. Last time I looked they are still there and doing a good job. You may want to ask the guy at the parts counter how many types of mudflaps there are. Who knows, maybe the plastic ones you got will hold up just as well.

ICE MAN, those are the ones, got them from Geno's. I was thinking of using stainless rivets to fasten them. I am picking the truck up tomorrow afternoon. Want to install them as soon as possible. Thanks for the info!

The stainless steel screws are to attach the back piece to the fender. The plastic screws attach the second piece to the first.

Just picked up my Dodge anti-spray mudflaps this afternoon, got the Beast backed into the garage(clears on the sides by 1").
Got ready to install with the "scrivets" provided, WHAT A P. O. S!. The dang rivets are too small for the holes they are supposed to fit into. They turn in the hole so you cannot tighten the screw. And yes they are plastic, they do give you metal screws to use in place of the plastic ones that you are to throw away. Sitting here now waiting for the weatherstip glue to dry on the "scrivets" so I can finish the install. Leave it to the DC to turn a 45 min job into a 2 hour one. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
"SCRIVET": a DC term meaning you are screwed.
