I'm in a bit of a bind, literally and figuratively. If I cut the the front of the muffler off before the crimp will I be able to get the crimped piece off and disassemble it from the rear? Or do I have to go get a cutoff wheel and cut slits to make It come off easier. I'll need my truck tomorrow and I'd like to get this done. Thanks

I did this on my 99 and found that using a cutoff wheel and cutting slits on the muffler was the only way to get it apart reasonably... maybe someone else has other/better experience?

I usually spray it down with PB blast & turn it with a pipe wrench while holding the pipe from spinning with another pipe wrench. Then a block of wood & Big hammer should knock it free.
