Has anyboby purchased an aftermarket replacement muffler and tail pipe that has stood up to the elements. I'm not looking to replace with 4 or 5 inch systems. Stock muffler is falling apart at the tail causing the tail pipe to be loose.

2000 Quad short box.

I've purchased a number of separate pieces from the local muffler shop including downpipe, tailpipe and muffler. I tried a number of exhaust combinations including stock front with straight pipe & stock tail; stock front with straight pipe and 4" tailpipe; stock front with 4" truck resonator & 4" tail. I ended up with a full 4" system and a 4" truck muffler.

All the aluminized steel pieces have survived the winter sand & salt treatments. Be sure to put plenty of anti-sieze under the SS band clamps as that is the only area I have noted corrosion.

Hi I had the same thing the stock muffler went bad. What I did was put a piece of stright pipe where the muffler was and welded it in. There's places that sell the pipe. I was wondering that it might be to loud but it sounds real good. p. s. my hot-rod day's our gone hopes this helps

I'll try dealer this week. I also found advance auto parts has one. I just don't want to replace this thing every year due to cheap parts. Four or five years on the factory one seems bad enough.
