This is more of an FYI than a question. I traded in my '01 2500 SLT diesel to the '06 2500 Big Horn and while it's been pretty good so far, especially in fuel economy (23MPG vs 18), I've been having some issues that the dealer hasn't addressed. This is the list:
1. Key fobs don't always lock/unlock the truck. I sometimes have to open the door and manually lock/unlock to get them to work.
2. Chimes don't always work when I insert the key and turn on the ignition.
3. Doesn't want to start the first time I try. Always starts right up on the second try. This usually happens when I shut down the truck and try to restart it within 5 minutes.
4. There seems to be something binding when I push in the clutch pedal. I feel some resistance and then I hear a "click" when pushing in the pedal.
5. Intermittently, I can't get into any gear from neutral. I figured out that if I put the shifter right at the gate to a gear and gradually let out the clutch, it goes into gear.
6. Driver's side seat cover stitching came apart. I got a complete set of brand new seat skins for the whole truck on e-bay from a dealership for about $200. 00... they were taken out of a new truck when the customer had leather seats installed before he took delivery. Such a deal! Oo.
I did have the truck in for service and the tech found grease oozing out from the transmission area. They dropped the transmission and found that a CV boot had failed. This was in July and they had to back-order the part from Dodge, They said it would arrive in September, so they have a few more days to make good on that. They threw the truck together so I wouldn't have to suffer driving the loaner, a Dodge Caliper... nice little car, but I feel like my butt is dragging on the ground
