Gateway TDR Meeting

2nd annual DOG DAYS OF SUMMER event at BULLYDOG

All I can say is WOW! I am still taken back by all the people I met over the past weekend! Where to begin? Well Here goes.

After getting there first thing was first. Go see Holeshot's buddy at none other than the liquor store! Iced up the chest and loaded up! Got back to the lot and hung out and partied with the first wavers until 2:30 A. M. Allready right off the bat seeing a few people and matching screen names  Friday rolled in and met a TON more. Again nothing but awesome people. Off to the washing place and shined up the big white jerkmobille and continued on back at lee's. Friday nite ..... well friday night was mahem personified. Donuts (Not the dunkin type either) burnouts and soot were on the menu as well as a healthy dose of catching up with hundreds of people that unlike bounty (The quicker picker upper) my brain could not absorb all the names but I know who all are! So it was up til' 2 or 3:00 A. M once again and beddy bye came quick.

O. K short snooze up @ 7:30 ish and off to a quick breakfast and the fairgrounds. Ahhhhhh the fairgrounds! Absolute diesel gearhead heaven shined up to a whole new level. Ten fold as to what I had envisioned. Every vendor known to mankind was out in force! It was like it was ALL FOR ME Oo. and everyone else thought the same as everybody had that silly willy wonka smile walking around. Of course I had my fuel pressure wowes in the back of my head but that was NOT going to ruin anything. So I drooled , dreampt , and dabbled and got a few things (One being a new Fuel Pressure guage MECHANICAL!!!) and giggling I ran off to the truck thinking I was the only nut wrenching in the grass. WRONG! Exhaust systems , airoxes , injectors , turbos , guages , and stickers were flying on trucks all over! SWEET! So in went the guage , a quick check and bing 15 pounds ... worries over * (More later) close her up and off to the bleachers to see some PULLIN'! An absolute awesome display of power was ever present in ALL classes and well kinda bit me a bit too :D . So the pulls went on ... . the sun baked ... the camera rolled and it was time to leave.

We leave and half way back to lee's *My PE took a dirt nap in a very leaky and sad way. Great looks like I am wrenchin tonite I said. Thankfully MassDiesel had a FASS on deck with him and I started wrenchin in the lot during the BIG BIG party. All thru the night ripping , tearing , drilling and bolting support came out of each poor on every person that stopped by to check out what was going on. and to this I take the time to say

Thank You!

From ladders , work lights , generators , knowledge , helping hands , pre assembly , assembly , final startup from the people that know the system the best , to tools , knives , beer , laughs , advice , and guidance I have to say that I walked back to my room @ 4:30 A. M completly awestricken by the total generocity and undeniable camaraderie that took place saturday night.

Up on sunday @ 9:00 and off to the track. Ahhh sweetness! Friends , diesels buzzing by (Sometimes in less than 9 secconds) , Brutal sunburn , and idle banter make for a great day! Off to get some well deserved REAL F O O D! It's Steak Time for Tim @ T. I. M yes nothing that requires catsoup , mustard , or a spork. Yep real plates , napkins , and glasses ... glasses for pete's sake I had to remember how to use theese devices. Fillet mignon , chilly , and 80 thousand peanuts later I am a happy camper. Back to lee's as there is no way in gd's green earth I am leaving this beautiul state.

So Up this morning @ 3:30 and just got home an hour ago and I want to go back allready!

Many many untold thank yous need to happen for a great time. and I bring this experience to a close with a short "What we learned" special.

1. The streets in muncie are VERY slippery and people just kept on getting stuck over , and over again.

2. The local Police have weekly seminars on how to PROPERLY roll out a burout (Must attend)

3. That train you heard ... ... ..... was NOT a train.

4. The locals somehow prepare for this and sense the season change from normal to SOOT season every year

5. People actually Read D. O. T Signage and obey them

6. you have to go west on east streets , east on west streets , and just take lefts on North streets???

7. A line of 20 trucks going down the road does not phase anybody.

8. You will get in DEEP trouble of you do NOT sit properly on the hood of a car durning a burnout.

9. "Silver Served" means just that.

10. I somehow suck bandwidth out of the air just by standing there.

11. If you have a lightbulb out somewhere outside or in a building ... . don't worry ... "It'll be light out soon"

Bless , and good nite!

Thanks for the report Tim. I guess you had fricken awesome kick ass party til dawn and give me more diesel power kinda time :)

It was great to meet everyone and it was all toooo much fun. But you need to add the other thing to your list that was learned first hand by a guy we'll just call "Stiffler" because he was exactly like the idiot in the American Pie movies. What did he learn? Well he learned that if you drink from a can of beer that has been cooled for a few minutes on dry ice it will freeze to your tongue! One of the funniest things I have ever seen. Yep, us Minnesotans like our beer cold and we know where to throw our garbage as well.

Been a long time since I have been on a trip where I didn't want to go home! Like HoleShot said, I don't think fun is a strong enough word to describe this weekend. Speaking of which, HoleShot, it was awesome to see you again, man!

I cannot wait until next year!!

Oh, by the way, I was one of the privileged people to witness the "Stiffler" wanna-be get the beer can stuck to his face. I offered up a solution to help get it unstuck but he didn't seem to like my idea!

I wonder if the pizza guy ever found his GF's keys? (still can't believe she flashed her chest so easily:p )

Great time, and great fun. I am already booked into the hotel again, and they gave me the 69. 00 rate. Get it while it's hot. Holeshot, we missed all the fun stuff, installing that exhaust system on my truck. Next year, no wrenching. Thanks again for the help to all the guys that donated the use of the tools and offers of assistance. It was great to be able to put faces with the handles, too.

Stiffler

As far as the stiffler thing goes i should have just riped the beer can off instead of wasting my beer to pour on his tounge that would have been funnier. no ofense "STIFFLER. " Holeshot where is the best damn place in the world to drink beer? LEE'S INN!

Well im glad i drove down to see T. I. M. it was well worth it. im with scott about us minnesotin's and our ice cold beer, and the garbage can we used.

Other things we may have picked up:

o You cannot do a burnout in reverse without special equipment

o When flames come out the stack, you are all done sled pulling

o Having a truck that is so clean you can eat off the underside isn't necessarily practical, is probably a sickness, but at least it gets you a nice trophy. Way to go Hammer!!

o Never give your cowboy hat to a pretty gal. You won't get anything for it, and you'll miss the hat

o Smoke will bring traffic to a standstill in any of the tunnels along the PA Turnpike

o It is dammed hard to catch up if you fall behind when Kobi is towing and out in front

o The minivan probably won't do a burnout, no matter who's cheering

Matt

Oh, and folks don't look like you imagine they do

meeting all the great people

watching "stiffler" get the beer can stuck

seeing all the trucks doing burnouts and

smoking the town.

Not wanting to go home

as I was having to much fun

can't wait until next year

Right, I was toward the back, and when I could see smoke in the distance, I knew that the caravan was picking up the pace.

Great to see you,

Matt

Or is that... ... I knew that the dark tunnel was about to get darker!:D :D

Oh my gawd I allmost forgot the "Made the most people cry" awarded to none other than RED HOT WELD!!!!

Thank you for making the entire caravan cry with laughter! Seeing a welding rig go down hill smoking ... . up hill , flat , idle , EVERYWHERE smoking and never cleaning up ..... EVER. Good god it was plain hysterical.
